Resolved: The City Council of Newport approves the award of contract for State Government Relations and Advocacy Services to Capital Communications Group for a monthly fee of $4,000, and further authorizes a transfer from the Council Contingency account to the Council Contract Services account in the amount of $25,000.

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommend Council award a contract for state government relations and advocacy services.

BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:

An RFP was issued for state government relations and advocacy services per Council directive. There were three respondents and Council held interviews with all three respondents. The respondents were:

Advocacy Solutions, LLC for a monthly fee of $6,500
Capital Communications Group for a monthly fee of $4,000
Nicole O'Loughlin for a monthly fee of $2,000
Capital Communications Group has subcontracted with Nicole O'Loughlin for a total monthly fee of $5,000.

FISCAL IMPACT

Transfer from Council Contingency to Council Contract Services for $25,000
