MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL

WORKSHOP RE: BUDGET OVERVIEW

RESILIENCE & SUSTAINABILITY (PUBLIC SERVICES, PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT, ZONING, INSPECTIONS, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY)

The following items of business, filed with the City Clerk under the Rules of the Council, came before the Council at a workshop held on  April 9, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 43 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840.

The following members were present:

Also present were Colin Kennedy, City Manager, Michael Caruolo, Deputy City Manager, Elizabeth Sceppa, Budget and Finance Analyst and Christopher J. Behan, Esq., City Solicitor.  The workshop commenced at 5:30 p.m.  Bill Riccio, Director of Public Services, Nick Craig, Director of IT, Brad Ward, Building Official, Patricia Reynolds, Director of Planning, Teresa Crean, Director of Resiliency & Sustainability and Jim Nolan, Director of Finance, addressed the Council to provide a presentation regarding the total budget overviews.  Discussion occurred among the Council members, Director Nolan and City Manager Kennedy.
