RESOLUTION
OF THE
COUNCIL
No.2025-99
WHEREAS, Parking in The City of Newport has been for many years and continues to be a challenge for city residents and visitors; AND
WHEREAS, The Newport City Council believes it to be a matter of fairness to the residents of, residential property owners in and visitors to The City of Newport, that parking stickers of any sort made available by the city, be made available only to those who, in any manner, resides in any residential dwelling unit, as defined by the city; NOW THEREFORE BE IT:
RESOLVED: That the city administration shall take the necessary steps, including if necessary, the drafting of proposed ordinances for the consideration of the city council, to prohibit the distribution of said parking stickers to any, but the above mentioned.
