No. 2025-115
WHEREAS: based upon the recommendation of The City of Newport Police Department, to enter into a subscription that is ongoing with PowerDMS for an Employee Document and Compliance Management Software; and
WHEREAS: the Police Department is committed to proactively centralizing policies and SOP's and tracking updates to policies over time, providing online training delivery, certifications, and complying with standards from the Rhode Island Police Accreditation Coalition (RIPAC) which provides best practices in modern policing and helps to provide accountability and risk reduction; and
WHEREAS: PowerDMS has proven success since 2018 with a history of streamlining operations, ensuring accountability, and supporting the accreditation process for the police department using the software; and
WHEREAS: PowerDMS has been recommended to continue a subscription for the next fiscal year at a not-to-exceed rate of $8,075.28; NOW THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED: that the agreement with PowerDMS of 2120 Park Pl.Suite 100 El Segundo, CA 90245 is hereby accepted at a cost not to exceed $8,075.28, and the Chief of Police/Director of Public Safety is authorized to sign said subscription renewal agreement on behalf of the City upon review by the City Solicitor's Office.
