THE CITY OF NEWPORT
RESOLUTION
OF THE
COUNCIL
No.2025-155
WHEREAS, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) submitted the first preliminary landscape plan for the Pell Bridge realignment in November 2021 to the City of Newport; AND
WHEREAS, Phases 1 and 2, along with the Rotary plans have not been executed since the submittal of the plan in 2021, and a requested Memo Of Understanding (MOU) has not been received by the City of Newport; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Newport City Council hereby directs the City Manager to formally request a meeting with RIDOT to discuss the status of Phases 1 and 2, along with the Rotary plans, and the requested MOU; AND BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be sent to the members of the State Legislature.
