RESOLUTION
OF THE
COUNCIL
No: 2026-55
WHEREAS:
The Middle-High School construction project documents have identified the need for an integrated electronic security system. The Director of Shared Facilities and Colliers Project Leaders have evaluated available options through the State of the Rhode Island’s Master Price Agreement and identified National Security Fire Alarm Systems as a qualified vendor. A recommendation was forwarded to the Town Administrator and School Building Committee,
and,
WHEREAS:
The School Building Committee and Town Administrator have agreed to forward the recommendation to the Town Council,
and,
RESOLVED:
That the Town Council approve the recommendation from the Shared Facilities Director and Colliers Project Leaders to award the contract of an integrated electronic security system for the construction of the Middle-High School project to National Security Fire Alarm Systems of East Providence, RI in the amount not to exceed one million one hundred nineteen thousand four hundred eighty dollars and zero cents (1,119,480.00)
and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
That the funding for this proposal is to be from the School Improvement Bond Proceeds, bond interest, and/or bond premium and all expenses recorded in the School Department’s Capital Projects Fund,
and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
That the Town Administrator is authorized hereby to execute an agreement on behalf of the Town of Middletown.
** Amended by vote of Council - Final authorization to execute the agreement is contingent upon the School Committee’s approval of the contract at their next meeting.
