RESOLUTION

OF THE
COUNCIL

No. 2026-43

WHEREAS: The Director of Public Services requested sealed proposals for beach chair and beach umbrella concessions at Easton’s Beach, RFP #26-REC-001, with Requests for Proposals received on January 28, 2026; and,

WHEREAS: Award has been recommended to Rhody Surf, Inc. of Newport, RI, and meeting all specifications included in RFP #26-REC-001, dated January 7, 2026, for umbrella and chair concessions at Easton’s Beach, for a period of one year (2026), with three additional one-year option periods at the discretion of the City, including payments to the City of $4,000.00 in 2026, $4,000.00 in 2027 (option year 1), $4,000.00 in 2028 (option year 2) and $4,000.00 in 2029 (option year 3). NOW THEREFORE BE IT

RESOLVED: That the proposal of Rhody Surf, Inc. of Newport, RI, is accepted, and the Council Chair is authorized to sign said agreement, subject to favorable review by the City Solicitor.
