THE CITY OF NEWPORT
RESOLUTION
OF THE COUNCIL
No. 2025-100
WHEREAS, VFW Post 46, Newport’s only VFW Post, desires the creation and installation of new signage to properly recognize PVT Michael Murphy who gave this life for our nation in WWI, to be erected at Murphy Field; AND
WHEREAS, It would also be fitting that a flagpole, similar to the flagpole in Morton Park, be erected in Murphy field as part of this overall goal; NOW THEREFORE BE IT:
RESOLVED: That the city administration shall work in consultation and partnership with VFW Post 46, to achieve the above goals within as reasonable a time frame as possible.
