RESOLUTION

No.2025-112
WHEREAS, In 2013, as beach revenues had not historically covered all beach related expenses without support from the general fund, city administration recommended the abolishment of the beach enterprise fund, while moving all beach operations into the general fund; AND
WHEREAS, While beach parking revenues have increased significantly to more than one million dollars per year, since 2020, upon the installation of parking meters/kiosks and modifications to the parking fees and collection calendar, limited additional funding has been allocated to the beach to support maintenance operations; AND
WHEREAS, Ordinance No.2025-01, as dated January 22, 2025, approved the increase of daily parking fee rates at Easton's Beach. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED, That each dollar more than the annual budget line item, Newport Beach Parking (019999930-048837), be directed in to a restricted financial reserve account for the purpose of creating a funding mechanism for future beach facilities, grounds and maintenance activity.
