CITY OF NEWPORT

RESOLUTION

OF THE
COUNCIL

No.2025-195

WHEREAS, Section 42-46-6 of the Rhode Island General Laws requires that regularly-scheduled meetings of the Council are to be posted at the beginning of the calendar year, notice of which shall include the dates, times and places of meetings; and

WHEREAS, under the Rules of the Council, meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays* of each month; and

WHEREAS, it has been the practice of the Council to alter the regularly scheduled meets for the months of November and December because of the holiday season. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED: that the regularly-scheduled meetings of the Council of the City of Newport shall be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 43 Broadway at 6:30 p.m., with pre-meetings held in the second-floor Conference Room at 6:20 p.m., on the following Wednesdays in the year 2026:

January 14 June 24
January 28 July 8
February 11 July 22
February 25 August 12
March 11 August 26
March 25 September 9
April 8 September 23
April 22 October 14
May 13 October 28
May 27 November 18*
June 10 December 9

*(Veteran's Day, November 11, 2026, falls on the second Wednesday of the month)

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that, as noted above, there shall be only one regularly-scheduled meeting during the months of November and December 2026.
