2025-30 Easton’s Beach Food Concession Contract

RESOLUTION

OF THE
COUNCIL

No.2025-30

WHEREAS, At the meeting held on April 24, 2024, The Newport City Council voted to approve a one-year mobile food and beverage service provider at Easton’s Beach agreement to 1899, LLC of Newport, RI; AND

WHEREAS, Said agreement contained a provision for three additional one-year option years at the discretion of the City; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT

RESOLVED, It is the declaration of the Newport City Council that attempts by the city manager or other members of the city administration to exercise any one-year option years as contained in the agreement, without the consent of the city council by way of a majority vote of the council at a meeting held in public session, is and/or will be met with disapproval by the city council; AND BE IT FURTHER

RESOLVED, That the Newport City Council directs the city manager to provide to the city council on or before February 26, 2025, recommendations, and the reasoning behind such, pertaining to the possibility of the city exercising an additional one-year option year as defined in the original above named agreement.
