RESOLUTION

OF THE
COUNCIL

No. 2024-19

WHEREAS: the Director of Public Services requested sealed bids for Cemetery Mowing Services, Bid #24-050 with bids received on 13 February 2024; and

WHEREAS: award of a three-year contract has been recommended to the sole responsive bidder being All Island Landscape, of Portsmouth, RI, at its annual not to exceed bid price of $34,375.00 for cemetery mowing services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED: that the bid of All Island Landscape, of Portsmouth, RI, is hereby accepted at a total not to exceed annual cost of $34,375.00 and a total contract cost of $103,125.00 and the Mayor is authorized to sign said contract on behalf of the City, subject to favorable review by the City Solicitor.

RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Public Services recommends awarding a three-year contract for Cemetery Mowing Services to the sole responsive bidder, All Island Landscape of Portsmouth, RI, at an annual cost of $34,375.00 and a total three-year contract cost of $103,125.00.

BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:
The cemetery mowing contract includes mowing the Common, North Common and Braman Cemeteries for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 growing seasons with twenty-five cemetery cuts per year at a per cut cost of $1,375.00 for a total of $34,375.00 per year. The three-year total cost for cemetery mowing services is $103,125.00. The per cut cost has increased from the previous three-year contract by $225.00 per cut.
