WHEREAS: The Director of Public Services recommends exercising option year one (1) to the agreement with Audrain Automobile Museum, for the temporary use of Easton’s Beach parking lot to accommodate its daytime patrons of the Annual Audrain’s Newport Concours Motor Week; and
WHEREAS: City Council Resolution 2025-06 authorized use of Easton’s Beach parking lots to Audrain Automobile Museum, agreement dated January 23, 2025, during the daytime hours of 8:00 am to 8:00 pm for the period of October 2 to 5, 2025, inclusive, and one (1), one-year option year at the discretion of the City, including an annual payment to the City of $10,210 for calendar year 2025, and $10,721 for 2026; and
WHEREAS: The agreement language includes a one (1), one-year option period that both parties wish to exercise; NOW THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED: That the one-year option period, October 1-4, 2026, included within the existing agreement, approved via Resolution 2025-06, with Audrain Automobile Museum, is hereby approved and accepted at a total cost of ten thousand seven hundred twenty-one dollars ($10,721.00), payable to the City of Newport on or before June 30, 2026, and the Council Chair is authorized to sign said agreement on behalf of the City, upon favorable review of the City Solicitor’s office.
