RESOLUTION
OF THE
COUNCIL
No. 2025-104
WHEREAS: the Department of Utilities has received a RIDEM, Ocean State Climate Adaption and Resilience Fund award for the purpose of studying marsh habitat restoration and public green spaces at South Easton Pond; AND
WHEREAS: the State of Rhode Island, through its Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM), Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC), and Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank (RIIB) has developed a grant agreement that outlines the requirements of the grant program; AND
WHEREAS: The State of Rhode Island, through the Fund’s grantors, requests the City of Newport's execution of this agreement by signature; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED: that the Newport City Council approves the RIDEM, Ocean State Climate Adaption and Resilience Fund Grant Agreement and authorizes the Council Chair to execute the agreement, by signature, on behalf of the City of Newport subject to favorable review by the City Solicitor.
