AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF TITLE FIVE OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND, REVISION OF 1994, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED, "BUSINESS LICENSES AND REGULATIONS."
BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Newport:
SECTION 1. Chapter 5.04 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Newport, Revision of 1994, as amended, entitled, "BUSINESS LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS GENERALLY," is hereby further amended as follows:
DELETE IN ITS ENTIRETY:
5.04.070. Holiday selling.
No retail establishment or person conducting retail sales shall be open on a holiday, as defined in Section 5-23.1 of the Rhode Island General Laws, without first obtaining a holiday license from the city council.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and any ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
