RESOLUTION

COUNCIL
No. 2026-99
WHEREAS, the Newport Public Sculpture Commission (NPSC) was formed to advise the City Council on the preservation, maintenance, and assessment of other issues related to its public Sculptures; AND
WHEREAS, the NPSC oversees 12 sculptures throughout the City, and needs to procure money in order to properly assess these sculptures at a cost of $9,500; AND
WHEREAS, while funding for the sculpture assessments, as well as other projects, is a main focal point of the Commission, the NPSC is asking for help from the City in the hopes of being able to carry out their work; NOW THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the Administration to help the NPSC seek a legislative grant and contribute $2,500 to those efforts.
