RESOLUTION
OF THE
COUNCIL
No. 2025-152
WHEREAS: the City of Newport, through its Department of Utilities, is implementing the "Restoring Marsh Habitat and Public Green Spaces at South Easton Pond" project to address erosion, improve flood management, restore marsh habitat, and increase public access; and
WHEREAS: the City completed the design phase of the project funded through the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank's Ocean State Climate Adaptation and Resilience (OSCAR) Fund; and
WHEREAS: the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank has awarded additional OSCAR grant funding to fully cover the installation phase, with no City appropriation required; and
WHEREAS: Fuss & O'Neill, Inc., was selected through a qualifications-based process under RFQ 2026-UTL-001, and has submitted a proposed not to exceed fee of $150,000 to complete the installation in accordance with the approved design and project schedule. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED: that the City Council of the City of Newport hereby accepts the OSCAR Fund grant award, awards a contract to Fuss & O'Neill, Inc. for installation of the developed design, and authorizes the Council Chair to execute any necessary documents to carry out the intent of this resolution, upon review of the City Solicitor.
