AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF TITLE 10 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND, REVISION OF 1994, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED, "VEHICLES & TRAFFIC":
BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Newport:
SECTION 1. Chapter 10.24 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Newport, RI, Revision of 1994, as amended, entitled, "PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON SPECIFIC STREETS" is hereby further amended, as follows:
10.24.050. - Two, three and four-hour parking limits.
DELETE PARAGRAPH D:
D. No motor vehicle or other vehicle shall be parked for longer than three hours between six a.m. and nine p.m. in the areas so designated and signed for three-hour parking in the Library and Recreation Parking Lot in Aquidneck Park. From May 1 through September 30, only those vehicles bearing resident parking stickers shall be allowed to park in this parking lot between the hours of ten p.m. and six a.m.
ADD IN LIEU THEREOF:
D. No motor vehicle or other vehicle shall be parked for longer than three hours Monday through Saturday between six (6) a.m. and nine (9) p.m. and Sundays between ten (10) a.m. and nine (9) p.m. in the areas so designated and signed for three-hour parking in the Library and Recreation Parking Lot in Aquidneck Park. From May 1 through September 30, only those vehicles bearing resident parking stickers shall be allowed to park in this parking lot between the hours of ten p.m. and six a.m.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and all ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
