2025-48 Adopting the 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program in concept

RESOLUTION

OF THE
COUNCIL

No.2025-48

WHEREAS, Section 9-19 of the City Charter of the City of Newport provides that the City Council each year shall adopt, by resolution on or before the first regularly-scheduled meeting in April, a Capital Improvement Program; and

WHEREAS, Section 9-19 also provides that a public hearing is to be held at least one week prior to adoption of the Capital Improvement Program; and

WHEREAS, on March 12, 2025, the Council held a public hearing to solicit comments on the Recommended FY2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED: that the Council of the City of Newport hereby adopts, in concept, the Recommended FY2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program, with the first and second years to be incorporated into the FY2026 & FY2027 Proposed Biennial Operating Budget, as funding allows.
