RESOLUTION
OF THE
COUNCIL
No. 2026-27
WHEREAS the city of Newport currently recognizes and participates in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Mass Purchasing Agreement (MPA) number PSE01;and
WHEREAS: The Fire Department has recommended the award of a contract to purchase $140,100 worth of fire hose and fire hose appliances to Fire Tech and Safety of New England, Inc. located at 100 Business Park Drive. Tyngsborough, MA 01879; and
WHEREAS: the purchase of this fire hose equipment will be funded by a FEMA Assistance to Firefighter Grant that has been awarded to replace existing fire hose equipment that is near the end of its current expected service life. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED: That award under the Massachusetts MPA with Fire Tech and Safety of New England, Inc. in the amount of $140,100 for the purchase of fire hose and fire hose appliances is hereby approved and the Council Chair is authorized to sign said contract on behalf of the City, subject to favorable review by the City Solicitor.
