2024-20 Resolution of the Council, re: Approve the recommendation of Environmental Consulting Management (EMC), Funding source for the proposal and authorizing the Town Administrator to execute an agreement on behalf of the Town of Middletown.

RESOLUTION

OF THE
COUNCIL

No: 2024-20

WHEREAS:

The Town of Middletown put forward a request for proposal for hazardous building materials inspection, testing, design and abatement/remediation monitoring services. The responses that were received were forwarded to the School Building Committee and a recommendation was forwarded to the School Committee,

and,

WHEREAS:

The School Building Committee and School Committee unanimously agreed to recommend Environmental Consulting and Management (ECM),

and,

RESOLVED:

That the Town Council approve the recommendation for hazardous building materials inspection, testing, design and abatement/remediation monitoring services of Environmental Consulting and Management (ECM) of Riverside, RI for the amount not to exceed two hundred one thousand, eight hundred-twenty-five dollars and zero cents ($201,825.00), subject to a mutually agreed upon contract,

and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:

That funding for this proposal is to be from the School Improvement Bond Proceeds and all expenses recorded in the School Department's Capital Projects Fund. Depending on the timing of when work commences, the Town's General Fund's fund balances will fund all invoices prior to bond issuance and the Town's General Fund will be reimbursed once funds become available,

and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:

That the Town Administrator is authorized hereby to execute an agreement on behalf of the Town of Middletown.
