4.         Action Item #6374/25 – RE:  Show Cause Hearing:  Pyramid Club, d/b/a Pyramid Club - Operating Without a Valid Class D Alcoholic Beverage License (Continued from April 23, 2025)

The public hearing was declared open.

Kyle Bennett, member, addressed the Board to provide an update and stated the club will remain closed until they can secure insurance. COMMISSIONER PINNOCK moved to continue the hearing to June 11, 2025. Seconded by COMMISSIONER CARLIN and VOTED UNANIMOUSLY.

5. Application of Newport Playhouse & Cabaret Restaurant, Inc., d/b/a Newport Playhouse & Cabaret Restaurant, 102 Connell Highway, holder of a Class BV alcoholic beverage license to transfer ownership to Newport Playhouse, LLC (Newport Playhouse & Cabaret Restaurant, Inc., 50%, Patrick Kilroy- 25%, Craig Kilroy-25%), d/b/a Playhouse Kitchen, 102 Connell Highway including 1778 square foot outdoor patio (Hearing)

The public hearing was declared open.  There was no public comment.

COMMISSIONER CEGLIE moved to close the public hearing. Seconded by COMMISSIONER NAPOLITANO and VOTED UNANIMOUSLY.

6. Application of Chomp Newport, LLC, d/b/a Chomp Kitchen and Drinks, 111 Broadway, holder of a Class BV alcoholic beverage license to expand the license premises by adding an 8’ x 48’ sidewalk café consisting of eight tables with 46 seats (Hearing)

The public hearing was declared open.

Spiridon Eliopoulos, 38 Everett St., and T.J. Provost, 37 Sheffield Ave., addressed the Council.

Sam Glynn, applicant, addressed the Council to answer questions.  Discussion occurred among the Board members regarding the size of the sidewalk café and number of seats.

COMMISSIONER CEGLIE moved to close the public hearing and approve. Seconded by COMMISSIONER NAPOLITANO. The motion failed, 3-4. In favor- CHAIR HOLDER, COUNCILOR NAPOLITANO, COUNCILOR CEGLIE. Opposed- COUNCILOR CARLIN, COUNCILOR KHAMSYVORAVONG, COUNCILOR SMYTH and COUNCILOR PINNOCK.

COUNCILOR CEGLIE moved to approve the license. Seconded by COUNCILOR NAPOLITANO. Terrence Geary, Aquidneck Grower’s Market, addressed the Council. The motion to approve was voted 6-1 with COUNCILOR CEGLIE opposed.

COUNCILOR CEGLIE  moved to approve the license.  Seconded by COUNCILOR NAPOLITANO and VOTED UNANIMOUSLY.

CHAIR HOLDER recused.
