WHEREAS, Residents of Hammond Street have expressed a desire for the city to undertake a traffic engineering study concerning the Hammond Street neighborhood and surrounding area; NOW THEREFORE BE IT:
RESOLVED: That the city administration shall engage in an engineering traffic study for the areas between Bellevue Avenue and Thames Street and from Memorial Boulevard West to Morton Avenue and to take the necessary steps to collaborate with the residents of Hammond Street to determine what components said traffic engineering study should include, an appropriate timeline during which the traffic engineering study should take place for the purpose of gathering the most in-depth data possible, and other action as deemed necessary, and shall, upon completing said steps, conduct the traffic engineering study requested by residents; AND BE IT FURTHER:
RESOLVED: That upon completion of the traffic engineering study, the city administration shall make results available to the members of The Newport City Council, residents of Hammond Street and other interested parties by way of standard distribution methods in place.
