The Town Council of the Town of Middletown hereby authorizes the submission of a proposed Town Charter amendment, attached hereto, to the Office of The Secretary of State for inclusion on the November 5, 2024, General Election Ballot.

Amendment to Middletown Home Rule Charter
(Resolution of the Town Council adopted June 17, 2024)

Shall the Charter of the Town of Middletown be amended in the following ways?

1. Shall the Charter be amended to delete the requirement that members of the Town Council be elected without political party designation? (Sec. 201)

2. Shall the Charter be amended to delete the requirement that members of the School Committee be elected without political party designation? (Sec.801)
