● **Vertical Alignment- Curriculum is intentionally organized across grade levels and course sequences so that learning builds progressively and prepares students for subsequent levels without gaps or redundancy. **
● **Standards Alignment- Curriculum and instructional guides are developed from Rhode Island academic standards and frameworks to ensure students are taught essential content for their educational journey. **
Middletown is committed to ensuring success for all students. Curriculum guides will identify clear expectations for all and identify priority learning goals, instructional strategies, assessments, and resources so that teachers, students, and families are aware of learning objectives and performance expectations.
The Superintendent/or designee shall establish, oversee, and maintain the district’s curriculum management system for all fields of study. -
Program Implementation:- Consistent, district-wide implementation with fidelity will be supported by professional learning and monitored using evidence of instructional effectiveness.
-
Program Evaluation:- There will be ongoing evaluation using multiple measures of student learning and implementation fidelity. Results shall be analyzed and reported to inform continuous improvement, curriculum revisions, and RIDE reporting requirements.
The Superintendent/or designee shall provide regular reports to the School Committee and present recommendations for curriculum improvements necessary to ensure continuous improvement and student achievement.
