RESOLUTION

COUNCIL
No. 2026-15
WHEREAS: The City of Newport, Harbor Division requested sealed proposals for Economic Impact Study, Regattas, Newport harbor, solicited under RFP# 2026 -MAR-002. Proposals were received on December 19, 2025; AND
WHEREAS: Award has been recommended to the most qualified proposal being Performance Research, of Newport, Rhode Island, at their price of $35,700.00. Award shall be for all regattas and marine racing events that happen over the course of an entire season, falling between the dates of May 1 and October 15, 2026, and shall provide date on each individual event as well as the aggregation of all events, at the sole discretion of the City in accordance with all terms and specifications contained within the proposal documents; AND
WHEREAS: The City of Newport will cover $25,700.00 of the total cost of the project, and Discover Newport will provide the additional $10,000.00 of funding; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED: That the proposal of Performance Research, of Newport, Rhode Island, is hereby accepted at a total cost of $35,700.00 and the Mayor is authorized to sign said contract on behalf of the City, subject to favorable review by the City Solicitor.
