RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL

WHEREAS:
The Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank (RIIB) and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) respectively have advertised the 2024 Resilient Rhody Municipal Resilience Program (MRP) Action Grants and Climate Resilience Fund (CRF) funding opportunities to assist municipalities implement projects to improve resilience to climate change, and

WHEREAS:
Both grant programs have a maximum award amount of $750,000, require a minimum 25% match of local funds toward the grant request, and have an application deadline of July 26, 2024, and

WHEREAS:
A combined grant application will qualify the Town for both funding opportunities, and

WHEREAS:
The Green End Ave and Berkeley Ave Culvert Replacement project has been identified as a priority project, with the follow estimated costs:
Total Project Cost: $1,981,000
Grant request: $750,000
Local match: $1,231,000

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That the Town Council hereby authorizes the Planning Department to prepare and submit the above referenced grant application(s).
