MINUTES OF THE JOINT CITY COUNCIL AND SCHOOL COMMITTEE

WORKSHOP RE:  ESSR FUNDS AND STUDENT ENROLLMENT

The following items of business, filed with the City Clerk under the Rules of the Council, came before the Council at a workshop held on January 23, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 43 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840.

The CITY CLERK called the Roll and the following members were present:

MAYOR KHAMSYVORAVONG opened the workshop.  Ronald Gonsalves, Jr., Executive Director of Administration and Finance addressed the Council and School Committee to provide an update on ESSER/DSP Spending Impact of Enrollment Decline.  Discussion occurred among the City Council, School Committee, Superintendent Jermain and Director Gonsalves.
