RESOLUTION

COUNCIL
No.2026-62
WHEREAS, in April, 2021, the City of Newport entered into an initial 5-year license agreement with Bike Newport for a no cost monthly license fee, to utilize and occupy the lot at 20 Sunset Blvd, now known as the "Bike Barn; and
WHEREAS, this space has been used by Bike Newport for group bicycle education and riding experiences, including a bike library, bike camp, beginner biking and group rides as well as a community garden space; and
WHEREAS, Bike Newport has been a valued community partner, promoting safe, healthy, and sustainable transportation throughout the city; and
WHEREAS, Bike Newport wishes to enter into a subsequent agreement with the City for 5-years, with (4) 5-year options, in consideration of a License Fee in the amount of $0 monthly, commencing upon execution of the agreement; NOW THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED: that the Newport City Council hereby approves this license agreement, and the Council Chair is authorized to sign said agreement on behalf of the City, subject to approval of the document by the City Solicitor.
