2025-189 Contract Extension # 23-053 – Decorative Street Light Maintenance Services

RESOLUTION

OF THE
COUNCIL

No. 2025-189

WHEREAS: The City of Newport requested Sealed Bids for Decorative Street Lights Maintenance and Repair Services, Bid # 23-053. Bids were received on 31 May 2023; and

WHEREAS: Award was made, via resolution 2023-68, to the lowest most responsive bidder, Frank A. Toner Electric Company, Inc. of Middletown, RI, at their submitted unit bid price schedule for an award period of three (3) years; and

WHEREAS: The contract language includes a three-year option period that both parties wish to exercise. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED: That the 3-year option period, July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2028, included within the existing contract, approved via Resolution 2023-68, with Frank A. Toner Electric Company, Inc. of Middletown, RI is hereby approved and accepted at a total (annual expenditure) NTE cost of seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000.00) and the Council Chair is authorized to sign said contract on behalf of the City, subject to favorable review by the City Solicitor.
