CITY OF NEWPORT

RESOLUTION

OF THE
COUNCIL

No. 2026-108

WHEREAS: The Director of Public Services requested sealed bids for the Sidewalk Improvement Program 2026, Bid #2026-PS-017 with bids received on June 2, 2026; and

WHEREAS: Award has been recommended to the lowest, most responsive bidder being Construction Concepts & Solutions, of Johnston, RI, at its bid prices for a total of $577,640.00, including $500,000.00 for anticipated contract construction work, $27,640.00 for Police Traffic Control (to be paid for by the City), and $50,000.00 for project contingencies (to be held in reserve by the City). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED: that the bid of Construction Concepts & Solutions, of Johnston, RI, is hereby accepted and the Council Chair is authorized to sign said contract on behalf of the City, subject to favorable review by the City Solicitor and the total project cost in the amount of $577,640.00, including $500,000.00 for anticipated contract construction work, $27,640.00 Police Traffic Control, and $50,000.00 contingency, is hereby approved.
